Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home in LaFayette on Tuesday, September 16 from 5 p.m. till 9 p.m.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 17 at New City Fellowship in Chattanooga. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. Service will begin at 11:00 with Pastor Randy Nabors officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFayette City Cemetery. Rod was an Army Veteran and was the Facility Services Supervisor with Covenant College for more than 10 years. He was currently a member of New City Fellowship Church in Chattanooga and was also a Deacon in the Tennessee Valley Presbytery. Rod was the Founder of Mercy’s Chosen Children, a Christian foster care & adoption agency and had previously led the Mercy Ministry for Highlands Presbyterian Church.

I came to know Rod Jackson while working under him at Covenant College. He was the finest employer I have ever come across, but he also became a close friend. It was awesome to see the love of Christ in his life as he ministered to others. I truly enjoyed his company and I will miss seeing the Lord through his eyes...
